Victim AssistanceThe Willoughby Police Department Victim Assistance Program consists of two part-time advocates: Director Kathy Fellows and Advocate Susan Hodali. The advocates may be called on to provide immediate crisis intervention to victims, to explain the court process and other court proceedings to victims and witnesses, which includes completing victim of crime compensation forms and accompanying them to court proceedings, and to extend direct assistance via referral to appropriate community agencies. Office hours vary; however, an advocate may be reached at (440) 953-4258 which is a 24-hour message service and calls will be returned in a timely fashion. You may also reach an advocate via email. In case of emergency, please dial 911. A support/outreach group is available through Forbes House which provides emotional and psychological support from peers with direction from a staff member or a trained volunteer. This group meets from 7:00 p.m. through 9:00 p.m. every Thursday evening. For further information, please call (440) 953-9779. |
